Light 1.1 was the previous-generation model behind everyday Nox conversations, tuned for low latency and concise answers. It was retired from Nox consumer products on September 23, 2026. Nox Vela 2 is its successor, while Light remains available to developers through the Nox developer API.
Light 1.1 was the default model of the Nox 1.1 generation, built around low latency: short, focused answers organised so the main point came first.
It supported photo input, handled automatically on attach, and its answers drew on the same Nox health library as the rest of the family. It did not have live web access; it answered from trained knowledge and the health library only.
Like every Nox consumer model, Light ran behind Leo, the deterministic safety layer whose measured recall and false-positive rate are published from a generated evaluation.
Light 1.1 was retired from Nox consumer products on September 23, 2026. Nox Vela 2 is its successor — the same latency class on a newer engine with reasoning and a larger context window — and Vela is available on every plan, including Free. Light remains available to developers through the Nox developer API.
